Survey Reveals 76% of Indonesians Concerned AI Could Replace Jobs
Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to develop. AI is gradually replacing human jobs. Which countries’ populations are most concerned about AI taking over their jobs?
French research firm Ipsos released a survey report on AI developments in the Predictions Report 2026. The survey was conducted across 30 countries from 24 October to 7 November 2025.
Ipsos interviewed a total of 23,642 adults aged 18 and above in India; 18-74 in Canada, Republic of Ireland, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States; 20-74 in Thailand; 21-74 in Indonesia and Singapore; and 16-74 in all other countries.
The sample included approximately 1,000 respondents each in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, and the US. Additionally, 500 individuals each in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Hungary, Ireland, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, and Turkey. India’s sample consisted of around 2,200 individuals, with approximately 1,800 interviewed face-to-face and 400 online.
The survey found that 67% of respondents are concerned AI will lead to significant job losses, a slight increase from 64% in 2025.
Indonesia topped the list, with 76% of its population fearing AI could replace jobs. Singapore and Colombia followed at 76% and 73% respectively. The rankings are as follows:
