Survey: Gerindra Leads Electability, PSI Above 4 Per Cent
The Indonesian Election Study Institute (LKPI) has released the results of an electability survey conducted on several political parties in September 2026. According to the survey results, the Gerindra Party occupies the top position among other political parties.
LKPI researcher Irwan Ardiansyah stated that the survey results show the Gerindra Party is in the leading position with an electability of 17.3 per cent. Meanwhile, PDIP achieved 16.8 per cent, PKB 6.2 per cent, NasDem Party 7.3 per cent, Golkar 6.1 per cent, PKS 5.5 per cent, PAN and PSI at 4.3 per cent, and the Democratic Party at 4.1 per cent.
“As many as 22.5 per cent of respondents did not provide an answer,” said Irwan in a statement on Monday (5/10/2026).
According to Irwan, the data shows that ahead of the 2029 political contest, there is still a fairly large proportion of respondents who have not made a choice. This implies that the competitive landscape remains subject to change.
The LKPI survey was conducted between 8-20 September 2026, involving 1,246 respondents spread across 36 provinces in almost all regions of Indonesia. The sampling method used multistage random sampling, with a 95 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of approximately 3.1 per cent.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews and telephone calls guided directly by interviewers. Telephone interviews were conducted using randomly generated virtual mobile numbers, with a mobile contact rate of 35 per cent and a response rate of 33.1 per cent. Meanwhile, face-to-face interviews accounted for 64.4 per cent with a response rate of 58.3 per cent.
