Survey: Ease of Transactions Drives Interest in Digital Banking
Ipsos Indonesia’s research institute has unveiled survey results showing that the ease of financial transactions is the primary driver behind public interest in using digital banks in Indonesia.
The “Survey on Perceptions and Satisfaction of Users towards Digital Banking Services in Indonesia 2026” by Ipsos records that 71% of respondents appreciate the ease and speed of transactions from digital banks.
Additionally, the completeness of daily transaction features such as QRIS payments, bill payments, and support for online shopping also emerges as an important factor (66%).
“These results show that users are now increasingly selective in choosing digital financial services. Not only from the financial services aspect, but also the ease of connecting with various daily transaction needs becomes a prioritised factor,” said Managing Director of Ipsos Indonesia, Hansal Savla, in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In terms of usage, the most dominant activities conducted through digital banks are topping up digital wallet balances and online shopping.
Savla assesses that this reinforces the importance of integration with the digital ecosystem, such as e-commerce platforms and other payment services, in supporting daily digital banking usage.
The survey also evaluates user perceptions and satisfaction towards a number of digital banking applications that continue to develop in the market.
Savla stated that inter-platform connectivity is also becoming an increasingly aligned aspect in supporting a more practical user experience.
“Integration with the digital ecosystem is becoming one of the increasingly relevant factors. Users tend to choose services that can support various activities practically and connect seamlessly within one platform,” he said.
He added that these findings affirm that digital banks are now becoming an important part of the public’s financial activities.
Ease of use, service speed, and the ability to integrate with various digital needs are factors that users increasingly consider in making choices.
“As user expectations develop, digital bank players are expected not only to provide fast and easy-to-use financial services, but also to be able to integrate with various daily digital activities,” said Savla.
“The ability to deliver a seamless experience is projected to become one of the main focuses in industry competition,” he added.
