Survey: 85.3 Percent of Holiday Travellers Satisfied with 2026 Mudik Organisation
A survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia indicates that 85.3 percent of the public who conducted the 2026 Lebaran mudik were satisfied with the implementation of Operasi Ketupat 2026.
Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, stated that the survey divided into two categories to assess public satisfaction with the Lebaran mudik organisation.
The first category targeted the general public who did not mudik, while the second focused on those who did mudik this year.
“The majority of the general public, 80.8 percent, are satisfied with this year’s Lebaran mudik organisation. Among mudik participants, the satisfaction level is even higher at 85.3 percent,” said Burhan during a press conference on Tuesday (7/4).
Burhan noted that satisfaction levels across all respondent groups did not decrease compared to the previous year.
He mentioned that 81.4 percent of the general public agreed that this year’s Operasi Ketupat was better at ensuring smooth traffic flow. Among mudik participants, the figure was higher at 82.7 percent.
Additionally, 79.8 percent of the public agreed that this year’s Lebaran organisation was better at reducing traffic accident rates compared to last year.
The survey also measured public satisfaction with facilities and services during the mudik and return flow for Lebaran 2026. The results showed that the majority of mudik participants were satisfied.
“Mudik participants were most satisfied with the provision of Polri posts for security, information centres, and rest areas for the public during the mudik and return flow, at 84 percent,” he explained.
The survey was conducted from 29 March to 4 April 2026, with 1,200 respondents. It used simple random sampling method with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
Separately, a survey by Lembaga KedaiKOPI recorded that 84.1 percent of respondents were satisfied with the overall performance of Polri, with an average satisfaction score of 7.81 on a scale of 1 to 10.
The survey was conducted from 23-30 March 2026 on 1,101 respondents who met the criteria as 2026 Lebaran mudik participants.
Head of Research at KedaiKOPI, Ashma Nur Afifah, explained that satisfaction with Polri was measured from two aspects: the performance of traffic police in managing road flow and the police’s role in securing homes left empty by mudik participants.
“If we focus on all aspects queried regarding police performance, including maintaining traffic flow, securing the mudik flow, and protecting home environments, the average satisfaction score is 7.81. The number of respondents satisfied with Polri’s overall performance is 84.1 percent,” said Ashma.
From the traffic police perspective, 80.6 percent of respondents were satisfied with their performance in maintaining mudik flow smoothness, and 81.7 percent were satisfied with their security efforts.
Although both figures remain above 80 percent, Ashma noted declines compared to 2025, with a 5.7 percent drop for smoothness and 6.2 percent for security.
