Survey: 81.3% of Public Satisfied with Prabowo's Performance, but Economic Concerns Linger

A survey conducted by the Federasi Serikat Pekerja BUMN Bersatu (FSP BUMN Bersatu) has revealed that 81.3% of respondents are satisfied with the performance of President Prabowo Subianto during his leadership. Respondents view Prabowo as an ‘enlightening leader’, a figure with high awareness who leads by example, inspires, and serves. They see leadership as a mandate and a form of service, rather than a means to seek power.

Beyond satisfaction with Prabowo’s performance, the survey also captured fundamentally positive economic conditions and a belief that the economy will improve, although the public’s prevailing mood tends to be predominantly negative. The survey highlighted a perception of difficult household economic conditions, accompanied by various concerns about economic variables.

Despite this, public assessment of President Prabowo’s performance in the political and legal fields is positively reflected in public satisfaction levels. A total of 86.2% of the public reported being very satisfied or satisfied with the President’s performance in politics, and 82.7% felt the same regarding legal affairs. Furthermore, 84.3% of the public assessed that the Prabowo administration has consistently maintained positive reception figures from the lower classes regarding social assistance and educational programmes.

Although public confidence in July 2026 remained in the optimistic zone, with 74.8% of the public optimistic that economic conditions will improve, there are signals that need attention, as 21.6% expect the economy to weaken in the future. ‘Although several aspects of the survey results depict a positive public perception, the current conditions and national economic trends captured in the community must be a major note for the Prabowo-Gibran administration,’ said Wijinowo, Head of Research and Development at FSP BUMN Bersatu, to the media on Sunday, 9 August 2026. He noted that the majority of respondents still feel that Prabowo Subianto is a leader capable of providing satisfaction, at a rate of 81.3%.
