Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Kadishub) DKI Jakarta, Syafrin Liputo, stated that the increase in passenger numbers at Kampung Rambutan Terminal has been evident since 23 March. Indeed, the surge in return traffic has reached around 80 percent compared to normal days. Syafrin explained that the peak return flow is expected to occur today as well as on 28 and 29 March. To anticipate the passenger surge, his agency has prepared additional transportation services, including the operation of Transjakarta buses in 14 corridors. “Some of them operate 24 hours. In addition, microtrans services are also on standby on certain routes,” he clarified. According to him, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency is also continuously monitoring developments at seven major terminals, namely the Integrated Terminal Pulo Gebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, Tanjung Priok, Lebak Bulus, Grogol, and Muara Angke. “The number of arrivals recorded is 2,251 passengers using 163 intercity interprovincial (AKAP) buses,” he said. Syafrin also outlined that for today up to 12:00 WIB, there were 2,501 passengers arriving using 107 AKAP buses. “The majority of arriving passengers come from West Java and Central Java regions,” he added. He assured that despite the passenger surge, terminal conditions remain safe and orderly thanks to the readiness of hundreds of joint personnel. “We urge the public to always board and alight in the official terminal areas to maintain safety and mutual comfort,” he stated.
