Surge in Mudik Traffic on MBZ Toll Road on H-4 Before Eid Recorded Up to 200 Percent

JAKARTA – PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) recorded a surge in vehicle volume leaving Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Elevated Toll Road on H-4 ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026, on Tuesday (17/3/2026). This increase reflects the growing mobility of the public as the Eid homecoming period nears. Based on traffic data, the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta was recorded at 63,275, an increase of 200.54 percent compared to normal traffic of 21,054 vehicles. “In the morning, the number of vehicles was higher than normal conditions. This situation continued into the afternoon and increased further in the evening, indicating high vehicle mobility leaving Jakarta on H-4 before Eid,” said Ria in an official statement. “Meanwhile, for the direction towards Jakarta, the vehicle volume was recorded at 27,821 vehicles, an increase compared to normal traffic of 21,344 vehicles by 30.35 percent, with relatively stable traffic movement throughout the day,” Ria added. Road users are urged to ensure that drivers and vehicles are in prime condition, maintaining sufficient battery power and fuel (BBM). Additionally, road users are asked to remain vigilant and anticipate potential weather changes, especially rain, which can affect visibility and road surface conditions. Thus, the journey can proceed safely and comfortably until reaching the destination.
