Surge in Applications for Favourite Schools in Majalengka Ahead of PCMB Closing
The registration for the New Student Mapping (PCMB) for the 2026/2027 academic year for senior high schools in Majalengka Regency is set to close on Monday (8/6/2026). However, applications for favourite schools have already exceeded the available quota.
This trend is evident at SMAN 2 Majalengka (Smandaka). As of Saturday (6/6/202orkan), the number of PCMB applicants has reached over 800 prospective students, far surpassing the available quota of 480 seats.
The chairman of the SMAN 2 Majalengka student admission committee, Aan Usmairin, stated that the high number of applicants demonstrates the significant trust the community places in the quality of education provided by SMAN 2 Majalengka. “Alhamdulillah, as of today, the number of applicants has reached over 800 people. Meanwhile, the available quota for this academic year is 480 students. This shows the very high enthusiasm of the community to join SMAN 2 Majalengka,” said Aan on Saturday (6/6/2026).
He noted that SMAN 2 Majalengka provides a total quota of 480 seats. Registration closes on 8 June 2026, with the announcement scheduled for 12 June 2026. Aan explained that the capacity of 480 students will be divided into 12 study groups (rombel), with each class containing 40 students to maintain the effectiveness of the learning process. “We are striving to maintain the quality of learning with a proportional number of students in each class,” he said.
The distribution of the 480 seats in this PCMB stage covers all registration pathways, including: the domicile pathway (151 students), the achievement pathway (130 students), the affirmation pathway (129 students), the mutation or parental transfer pathway (22 students), and the buffer domicile pathway (48 students).
Aan emphasised that the entire PCMB process is conducted transparently, objectively, and in accordance with the technical guidelines established by the West Java Provincial Government. He also urged prospective students and parents to continue monitoring official information from the school and to ensure all administrative requirements are met. “We invite all prospective students and parents to follow the PCMB process in an orderly manner, monitor official information, and not easily believe unaccountable information. The entire selection process is conducted openly and according to the rules,” he asserted.
