The future of the digital economy is built on reliable, affordable connectivity that reaches more people. We view connectivity not merely as infrastructure, but as an enabler of progress.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), known as Surge, and Wuhan FiberHome International Technologies Co. Ltd. (FiberHome) have signed a strategic partnership to broaden the scope of telecommunications infrastructure development and Indonesia’s national digital ecosystem.

The signing took place at FiberHome’s booth during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Shanghai, China, marking a step towards accelerating national digital transformation and equitable access to affordable internet for Indonesians.

Surge Director Shannedy Ong said in an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday that building Indonesia’s digital economy requires collaboration that transcends industry and technological boundaries.

“The future of the digital economy is built on reliable, affordable connectivity that reaches more people. We view connectivity not merely as infrastructure, but as an enabler of progress,” said Shannedy.

According to him, every network built will open access to economic opportunities, education, public services, and innovation.

“Through strengthening the partnership with FiberHome, we aim to accelerate the creation of digital infrastructure that not only connects regions but also opens opportunities, empowers communities, and creates sustainable growth for Indonesia,” Shannedy added.

The partnership opens up development opportunities ranging from the expansion of fixed broadband networks, strengthening of the national backbone and optical access, development of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services, to 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions.

The various cooperation plans between Surge and FiberHome include:

  • FWA Sites with a cooperation target of up to 3,000 locations

  • FWA CPEs, with a target of up to 1,600,000 CPE units

  • National Cross-Island Backbone and Metro Access Optical infrastructure (DWDM, MPLS, OSP)

  • Full Turnkey FTTH Homepass solutions up to 300,000 units

  • PON Network Devices (OLT, ONT)

  • Centralised Solar Power Plant (PV) projects

  • Future Railway Mobile Communication Systems.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Wuhan FiberHome Indonesia, Jason Lin, affirmed the company’s optimism regarding Indonesia’s continuously growing digital potential.

“Indonesia has a great opportunity to become one of the largest digital economic powers in the region. Through collaboration with Surge, we hope to deliver technology and innovation that supports the development of robust, sustainable digital infrastructure ready to meet future needs,” said Jason Lin.

According to him, the partnership reflects a commitment to supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda through infrastructure development capable of reaching more communities, promoting digital inclusion, and creating long-term value for all stakeholders.

Both parties believe that strategic collaboration between infrastructure providers and technology providers will be a key factor in accelerating the realisation of an increasingly connected, productive, and competitive Indonesia in the digital economy era.

“Both companies are committed to accelerating digital infrastructure development, expanding inclusive connectivity access, and supporting the growth of Indonesia’s sustainable digital ecosystem,” Jason Lin concluded.
