Surakarta Police Uncover 3.5 kg Methamphetamine Network from Banten
The Surakarta City Police (Polresta) have made a historic drug seizure, uncovering 3.5 kg of methamphetamine. Deputy Chief of Polresta Surakarta, AKBP Sigit, stated this is the largest methamphetamine bust since the department was established. ‘This is a new history for Polresta Surakarta since its founding, namely the uncovering of 3.5 kg of methamphetamine,’ he said proudly on Monday evening (29/6/2026). The illicit goods were collected by a courier and dealer, identified by the initials Kdn alias Ck (30), a resident of Tambas Village, Ngemplak District, from a location in Banten. The total consignment was 5 kg, for which the courier was to be paid Rp 17 million. Head of the Narcotics Unit, Commissioner Afrian Riski Dwi Wibowo, explained that the suspect was ordered to collect 5 kg from a drug lord in Banten. ‘Before he was caught in the Ngemplak area, about 1.5 kg of methamphetamine had already been distributed, leaving 3.5 kg as evidence uncovered by the Polresta Surakarta Narcotics Unit,’ he told reporters. The uncovering took place across three crime scenes in the Ngemplak area, Boyolali, on Saturday afternoon, 27 June 2026. At the first location, the arrest site, officers found 19 packages of methamphetamine. The suspect then led police to his home near Adi Soemarmo Airport in Tambas Village, where 3 kg of methamphetamine were found hidden behind the house, divided into three plastic bags. The final discovery was made at a boarding house in the Graha Sejahtera housing complex in Delanggu, Klaten Regency, where 12 packages of methamphetamine, along with scales and drug paraphernalia, were seized. ‘In detail, the first discovery was 0.4 kg in 19 packages, then 3 kg at the suspect’s house, and finally 12 packages at the housing complex in Delanggu,’ the Narcotics Unit Head added. The police are continuing to develop the case in an effort to dismantle the narcotics network operating within the Solo jurisdiction. The suspect, Kdn, faces a minimum sentence of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison for the methamphetamine case originating from Banten.
