Surabaya Therapist Charged with Stealing Rp1.2 Billion from Client, Funding Luxury Hotel Stays
Surabaya spa therapist Nur Hasannah Prasetya has been charged with stealing Rp1.2 billion from client Tonny Soegiono. The ill-gotten funds were used by Nur for stays at a five-star hotel.
Prosecutor Hasanudin Tandilolo stated, “The accused has spent Rp1.2 billion on five stays at the Shangri-La Hotel,” according to detikJatim on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Hasanudin explained that Nur rented hotel rooms on 20 August 2024 (one deluxe room), 30 August 2024 (one executive room), and 5 September 2024 (one executive room), with a total of five stays at the luxury hotel.
According to the latest hotel website information, deluxe rooms cost approximately Rp1.1 million per night, while executive rooms are around Rp1.3 million per night.
Nur’s life changed after successfully stealing Tonny’s money, with portions of the stolen funds also transferred to her accomplice, Putriana Kusuma Wardany.
Nur made 13 transfers to Putriana’s account, who is now listed as a fugitive, with amounts ranging from Rp10 million to a maximum of Rp74 million.
The theft was only uncovered on 25 September 2024 when Tonny accidentally printed a bank statement at a private bank branch in Rungkut Industrial Estate. He then realised his savings had been drained via 32 transfers to an account in Nur Hasannah Presetya’s name.
