Surabaya Spa Therapist Steals Rp1.2 Billion from Colleague via ATM Transfers

DetikJatim reported on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, that the defendant in the theft case is Nur Hasannah Prasetya, a therapist at Spa Superior in Surabaya. The prosecutor stated that Nur stole money from her colleague, Tonny Soegiono, in stages totalling Rp1.2 billion. The case began when both the defendant and victim worked at Spa Superior on Jalan HR Muhammad Square, Block D, Surabaya. Daily, the victim would leave their phone with the defendant when using the restroom. The defendant allegedly exploited this opportunity to take the victim’s ATM card, stored in the phone case, to make transfers. The acts occurred between August and September 2024. “After successfully transferring the funds, the ATM card was returned to its original place, so the victim did not suspect anything,” prosecutor Hasanudin said while reading the indictment.
