The funds in Tonny Soegiono’s account were stolen by Nur Hasannah Prasetya, a therapist at Spa Superior in Surabaya, totalling Rp1.2 billion. Nur is currently on trial for the theft. Prosecutor Hasanudin Tandilolo described the relationship between Tonny and Nur as that of a spa customer and therapist. Hasanudin stated that Tonny and Nur had known each other for a long time, with Tonny being a long-standing customer of Nur. ‘The victim, Tonny, was a regular spa client for years,’ Hasanudin told detikJatim on Wednesday (27/5). However, he admitted not knowing if there was a special relationship between them, only confirming Tonny was a loyal customer. ‘Whether they were dating or not, Tonny was definitely a regular spa client,’ he added. The case began at Spa Superior, where Tonny frequently left his mobile phone with Nur when using the restroom. Nur exploited this opportunity to gradually siphon funds from Tonny’s account. Unaware, Nur secretly accessed the phone’s protective cover containing the ATM card and initiated transfers. ‘After successfully completing the transfers, the ATM card was returned to its original place, so the victim did not suspect anything,’ Hasanudin explained. Hasanudin said Nur acted alone in the theft between August and September 2024. Meanwhile, her accomplice Putriana Kusuma Wardani did not participate in the theft but received transfers and enjoyed the proceeds; she is now on the wanted list. The prosecutor stated Nur stole the funds in stages, totalling Rp1.2 billion. ‘It wasn’t just Nur acting alone; she transferred money to her friend Putriana Kusuma Wardani’s account, splitting the proceeds,’ Hasanudin said. Additionally, Nur is suspected of using the stolen money for her lifestyle, including stays at Surabaya’s Shangri-La Hotel and purchasing jewellery worth tens of millions of rupiah at gold shops in Royal Plaza and BG Junction.
