Surabaya City Government Expands Implementation of Digitalised Parking
The Surabaya City Government is expanding the implementation of digitalised parking services throughout the city. Notably, 1,541 parking attendants have renewed their Membership Cards (KTA) while simultaneously adopting the digitalised parking system.
The Head of the Surabaya City Transportation Agency, Trio Wahyu Bowens, stated that there are still 163 attendants who have not yet renewed their KTA or had their expired cards revoked.
“We have revoked these; we have socialised this to the Indonesian Parking Association (API) and the Surabaya Parking Attendants Association (PJS). They all understand, and we have directly revoked the KTA for those 163 individuals,” said Trio in Surabaya on Saturday.
He explained that the obligation to renew the KTA is part of administrative order for every parking officer, as the regulation is analogous to the requirement for renewing a driving licence (SIM).
Trio noted that the agency has undertaken various efforts to ensure attendants promptly validate and renew their KTA, such as requesting officers to visit the Transportation Agency office directly and conducting mobile outreach at several locations.
“We have even conducted outreach as far as the Sunan Ampel religious tourism area to facilitate the renewal of membership cards,” he added.
The Surabaya City Government is currently intensifying the digital or cashless parking system with the aim of ensuring transparency regarding regional original revenue (PAD) through the parking sector.
