“The verdict: the prosecutors’ cassation is rejected,” read the ruling on Junaedi Saibih, as quoted from the Supreme Court’s decision directory in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The cassation ruling was handed down on 11 September 2026 by Panel Chair Jupriyadi, alongside panel members Arizona Mega Jaya and Ainal Mardhiah.

In the ruling, the panel acquitted the defendant Junaedi Saibih of the prosecutors’ charges, on the grounds that no meeting of minds had been found that could prove the defendant’s involvement in the case.

Furthermore, the facts of the trial showed there had been no communication carried out to jointly bribe the judges handling the cooking oil corruption case.

In the prosecutors’ indictment, Junaedi, together with private television directors Tian Bahtiar and M. Adhiya Muzzaki, were said to have created programmes and content aimed at shaping negative public opinion to discredit the handling of cases then being undertaken by the Attorney General’s Office.

Three cases were cited as affected by the suspected obstruction-related bribery: suspected corruption in CPO exports and their derivatives between January and April 2022, suspected corruption in the management of tin commodity trade within PT Timah Tbk’s mining permit area from 2015 to 2022, and suspected corruption in sugar imports.
