Supreme Court to Immediately Dismiss Judges Arif Nuryanta and Djuyamto After Appeal Rejected

The Supreme Court (MA) will immediately process the dismissal of judges Muhammad Arif Nuryanta and Djuyamto, who were involved in a bribery case linked to an acquittal verdict in a cooking oil corruption matter. The court will issue a dishonourable discharge (PTDH) against the judges. “Yes, the follow-up is that once it is legally binding, a dishonourable discharge will be proposed immediately,” said Supreme Court Spokesperson Yanto when contacted on Wednesday (8/7/2026). Yanto stated that the measures taken by the MA apply similarly to other judges who have committed violations. The decision follows the legally binding verdicts against Arif Nuryanta and Djuyamto. “The point is, once it is legally binding, a dishonourable discharge will be proposed immediately, just like the others, like the Surabaya judges, then the Central and South Jakarta judges, it’s the same,” he added. It is known that the MA rejected the cassation appeal filed by defendant Djuyamto in the bribery case concerning the acquittal verdict for the cooking oil case. Djuyamto’s sentence remains 12 years in prison. A similar decision was made regarding the former Head of the South Jakarta District Court (PN) and former Deputy Head of the Central Jakarta District Court, Muhammad Arif Nuryanta. Arif’s sentence of 14 years in prison for the acquittal bribery case in the cooking oil matter was also upheld.
