The Supreme Court (MA) has proposed an additional budget of Rp 10.303 trillion for the 2027 fiscal year. The extra funding is intended, among other things, for the construction and rehabilitation of court buildings and the development of official residences for judges.

This was stated by MA Secretary Sugiyanto during a hearing with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (15/6/2026). Sugiyanto explained that the indicative budget ceiling for the MA in 2027, valued at Rp 16.9 trillion, still falls short of the institution’s needs.

“Based on the calculation of budget requirements for 2027, the Supreme Court still requires an additional budget of Rp 10.303 trillion,” Sugiyanto said.

One of the proposed additional allocations is for the rehabilitation of judges’ official residences and court buildings, with a value reaching Rp 5.2 trillion.

“Capital expenditure of Rp 5.280 trillion is required for the construction and rehabilitation of court buildings, construction of judges’ official residences, procurement of information technology facilities and infrastructure, operational vehicles, and the fulfilment of various other judicial infrastructure needs to support more effective and modern legal services,” he detailed.

On the same occasion, the Judicial Commission (KY) also proposed an additional budget of Rp 272 billion. This figure is intended for a number of activities, including personnel and operational expenses.

“In accordance with the KY’s joint letter for 2027, the indicative budget ceiling received by the KY for 2027 is Rp 148.5 billion, which is only 35.2% of the preliminary work plan submitted by the KY,” said KY Secretary General Arie Sudihar. “An additional total of Rp 272.4 billion is proposed, so that the expected budget allocation ceiling for the KY in 2027 is Rp 420.988 billion,” he added.
