The convict in the corruption case over the construction of the temporary evacuation building (TES) or Tsunami Shelter in Desa Pemenang Barat, Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Aprialely Nirmala, has had to swallow a bitter pill. A request for a judicial review (Peninjauan Kembali, PK) submitted by Aprialely was rejected by the judges of the Supreme Court (MA).

On the official page of the case-tracking information system (SIPP) of the Mataram District Court, the decision for Aprialely Nirmala’s legal remedy is recorded with number: 1251 PK/PID.SUS/2026.

“PK appeal by the convict is rejected,” reads the clause of the decision, chaired by Jupriyadi, with members Ainal Mardhiah and Arizon Mega Jaya, on Thursday (21/5/2026).

Public Relations of Mataram District Court, Kelik Trimargo, confirmed the existence of the decision. “Yes, as listed in SIPP,” he said.

With PK rejected, Aprialely Nirmala must serve the punishment in accordance with the sentence by the Mataram Corruption Court (Tipikor) whose decision has lasting legal force.

Previously, in the verdict by the Mataram Tipikor Court chaired by Isrin Surya Kurniasih, Aprialely Nirmala was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment and a Rp 300 million fine. If Aprialely fails to pay the fine, it must be replaced with imprisonment.

“With the provision that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced by four months’ imprisonment,” Isrin Surya Kurniasih ruled, on Wednesday (4/6/2025).

For context, in the Tsunami Shelter project in Lombok Utara this was built in 2014. It was a joint work between the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as the technical design.

The building located in Desa Bangsal, Pemenang District, Lombok Utara is one of 12 national-scale projects from 2012 to 2015.

The executor was PT Waskita Karya. The planning consultant for the building with a design capable of accommodating 3,000 people were PT Qorina Konsultan Indonesia and the supervising consultant from CV Adi Cipta.

In this case, the amount of state losses is Rp 18 billion based on the total value of the TES or Tsunami Shelter building.
