Supreme Court Rejects ANS Kosasih's Cassation, 10-Year Prison Sentence Upheld
The Supreme Court’s verdict, as recorded in the court registry, stated: ‘reject the defendant’s cassation.’ The cassation appeal by ANS Kosasih was presided over by Chief Judge Jupriyadi, alongside members Arizon Mega Jaya and Ainal Mardhiah, with the decision delivered on Thursday, 21 May.
Previously, the Jakarta High Court modified the subsidiary sentence regarding the replacement payments for ANS Kosasih in the fictitious investment case. However, the prison sentence and the value of the replacement funds remained unchanged. The appeal hearing for Kosasih was held at the Jakarta High Court on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, under the panel of judges led by Teguh Harianto, with members Budi Susilo and Hotma Maya Marbun.
‘The verdict modifies the decision of the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta District Court Number 53/Pid.Sus-TPK/2025/PN Jkt Pst dated 6 October 2025, which was appealed, solely regarding the duration of the substitute punishment if the Defendant fails to meet his obligation to pay the replacement funds and the status of the evidence,’ stated the presiding judge during the reading of the appeal verdict.
The appellate judges maintained Kosasih’s sentence of 10 years imprisonment, a fine of Rp 500 million (subsidiary to 6 months of imprisonment), and the following replacement funds:

The total value of the replacement funds amounts to approximately Rp 35 billion. The appellate judges modified the subsidiary period for the failure to pay these funds from 3 years to 5 years. ‘If the funds are insufficient, the defendant shall serve an additional 5 years in prison,’ the judge concluded.
