PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) has strengthened its position in regional human resources management by winning three awards at the HR Asia Best Companies To Work For In Asia 2026 event held on Friday (5/6). In addition to achieving the main predicate as one of the best workplaces in Asia, the company with the stock code ASII also took home the HR Asia People Transformation Awards 2026 and the HR Asia Sustainable Workplace Awards 2026. This achievement was not only secured by the holding company but also by a number of subsidiaries under the Astra Group. Entities that won similar awards include PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), FIFGROUP, Astra Credit Companies (ACC), Surya Artha Nusantara Finance (SANF), and PT United Tractors Tbk (UT). The HR Asia Awards is a regional assessment instrument that recognises corporations with the best HR management practices, high levels of employee engagement, and an inclusive and sustainable work culture. The standardisation and assessment process in this year’s event was competitive, involving approximately 2.5 million respondents from 20,000 companies across various Asian countries. Notably, 20% of the total participants are corporations listed on the prestigious Fortune Global 500 list. ‘We interpret this award as encouragement to continue providing a work environment that supports every Astra individual in developing their best potential. We believe that corporate sustainability cannot be separated from the contribution of employees to become a beneficial asset for the nation,’ said Astra’s Chief of Corporate Human Capital Development, Matilda Esther Rotinsulu, in a written statement. Astra secured this international award ahead of its operational age approaching seven decades. Currently, the domestic business giant has consolidated 322 subsidiaries with an active workforce totalling more than 190,000 employees. In recent years, Astra’s investment in HR development has focused on strengthening aspects of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. One tangible implementation is the formation of the ‘Perempuan Astra’ (Astra Women) community. This platform is optimised as a centre for collaboration, capacity building, and a learning space for female workers within the group. Currently, the Perempuan Astra community has gathered more than 3,000 active members. To ensure these diversity values are absorbed up to top management levels, the company has also integrated a specific programme called the Diversity Awareness Programme for Astra’s Leaders. The management emphasised that creating a collaborative, safe, and sustainable workspace is not merely the company’s internal strategy to reduce employee turnover rates. This step is part of the corporation’s commitment to supporting the achievement of Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets.
