Supporting the "Every Child Has a Voice" Movement, KCN Promotes Awareness of Nonverbal Autistic Children

PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) supports the “Every Child Has a Voice” movement by participating in the launch of the book “Naya and Her Talker” at Gramedia Matraman, East Jakarta, on Sunday (10/5/2026). KCN’s participation in the event represents the company’s commitment to enhancing public awareness of nonverbal autistic children as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The involvement of the company, which operates in the port and logistics sector, also serves as a continuation of the long-standing synergy with the Social Welfare Institution (LKS) for Disabilities of the Yayasan Cagar Rumah Autis Depok. KCN’s Public Relations Supervisor, Bella Mardiana, stated that this collaboration is a form of the company’s commitment to supporting the creation of a more inclusive and friendly environment for children with special needs. For context, the launch of the book “Naya and Her Talker” is an initiative aimed at building public understanding of nonverbal autistic children while promoting a more inclusive space for them. In addition to the book launch, the event featured talkshow sessions, discussions and sharing of experiences, meet-and-greet opportunities, as well as a collaboration ceremony with various parties concerned with issues of inclusion for children with special needs. The book “Naya and Her Talker” tells the story of a nonverbal autistic child’s journey in finding a way to communicate through a talker, a communication aid that serves as a bridge for the child to express needs, emotions, and thoughts. The author of the book “Naya and Her Talker”, who is also the mother of the child named Naya, Dewi Mareta, expressed her gratitude that the launch of her book could take place. Furthermore, she shared that the writing of “Naya and Her Talker” stemmed from a simple desire to share experiences of witnessing her child’s development after using the talker. “The opening of this communication is a very meaningful step and is hoped to help other positive developments,” Dewi stated. With the right approach, she believes that every child has a way to connect and express themselves. “I hope the ‘Every Child Has a Voice’ movement can drive awareness, empathy, and public understanding of nonverbal autistic children. These children also need space, support, and opportunities to be heard,” explained Sofia.
