Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan (MHJS), a flagship unit under Mayapada Healthcare, has collaborated with Lovepink (Yayasan Daya Dara Indonesia) to expand community members’ access to comprehensive, integrated, and international-standard oncology services.

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Hospital Director of Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan, dr. Fiktorius Kuludong, and the Vice Chairwoman of Lovepink, Anita D. Sulistyowati, witnessed by the Chief Operating Officer of Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan, Joyce Rahayu Kusumariyadi, at Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan.

Hospital Director of Mayapacia Hospital Jakarta Selatan, dr. Fiktorius Kuludong, stated that for Mayapada Hospital, cancer care is not just about treating a disease, but ensuring patients receive the right support at every stage of their journey.

“At the Oncology Centre of Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan, we employ a Comprehensive Cancer Care approach and a commitment to ‘Walks Every Journey with C.A.R.E.’ (Compassion, Advanced, Responsive, Experts), ensuring patients have access to integrated services, advanced technology, and the necessary medical expertise,” he said, as quoted from a written statement on Monday (21/9/2026).

“The collaboration with Lovepink is a concrete step to bring that support closer to the community of breast cancer warriors and survivors, while also encouraging more women to be more aware of breast health and not delay examinations according to medical needs and recommendations,” he added.

Through this collaboration, the Lovepink community, including both breast cancer warriors and survivors, can access the comprehensive services of the Oncology Centre at MHJS. This includes integrated breast cancer services (Breast Unit) ranging from screening and diagnosis, detection of masses, management of malignancy, therapy, to monitoring and follow-up care.

These services are supported by a multidisciplinary medical team consisting of surgical oncologists, haematology-oncology specialists, radiation oncologists, anatomical pathologists, general surgeons, radiologists, and related disciplines, such as general practitioners and nurses involved in patient navigation.

The services are also supported by advanced medical facilities and equipment to support treatment, such as PET-CT Scans, 3D mammography, 4D breast ultrasound, laboratories, radiology, inpatient care, and outpatient medical rehabilitation, all supporting comprehensive breast cancer care.

Vice Chairwoman of Lovepink, Anita D. Sulistyowati, welcomed the collaboration. According to her, every breast cancer warrior and survivor has a different journey and requires different levels of support.

“Therefore, access to complete, reliable, and integrated services is very meaningful for the community. We see that Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan offers not only technology and medical services but also brings the spirit to truly accompany patients on their journeys. We hope this collaboration can provide tangible support felt by more members of the Lovepink community,” she explained.

Chief Operating Officer of Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan, Joyce Rahayu Kusumariyadi, added that when facing cancer, patients should not feel they are going through everything alone.

“We want the patient experience to be part of the quality of cancer care itself. With coordinated care that is always patient-centred, we strive to make the patient’s journey clearer, more directed, and more comfortable. Support such as Patient Navigators also helps patients and families understand the stages of treatment, so they can undergo the journey with greater peace of mind,” she said.

On the other hand, Dr Martha Iskandar, Sp.PD, KHOM, an Internal Medicine Specialist and Consultant in Cancer and Blood Disorders at Mayapada Hospital Jakarta Selatan, explained that in cancer management, systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy are essential parts of comprehensive cancer care.

“The choice of therapy cannot be done in isolation but must consider the condition and characteristics of each patient’s cancer through evaluation by a multidisciplinary team. Through inter-specialist collaboration, we can devise more targeted treatment strategies, from diagnosis and therapy selection to treatment response evaluation, while keeping patient needs as the priority,” she said.

The accuracy of breast cancer examination at every stage is key to determining treatment steps. The MHJS Oncology Centre is supported by advanced imaging technology such as 4D breast ultrasound and 3D mammography to view breast conditions in more detail, while providing more comprehensive information for patients.

When an area requiring further examination is found, a biopsy remains the primary standard to ensure a breast cancer diagnosis. One of the most advanced biopsy techniques currently available at MHJS is Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB), where tissue sampling is performed minimally invasively without open surgery.

Once a diagnosis is confirmed, under certain conditions, a PET-CT scan can provide a more complete picture of disease activity and the possibility of spread, helping doctors obtain more accurate information to determine the appropriate and targeted treatment strategy.
