Supporting Stunting Reduction Through Education and Donations in Bekasi
PT Hankook Tire Indonesia is strengthening its commitment to supporting national stunting prevention through a nutrition education programme and health assistance for communities in Bekasi Regency. The event held in Hegarmukti Village on 2 April 2026 targeted expectant mothers and mothers with children aged 0–3 years. The programme encompassed nutrition counselling, free health examinations, and donations to support local health services.
President Director of Hankook Tire Indonesia, Jung Jinkyun, stated that this programme is part of the company’s support for the government’s target to reduce stunting rates.
“Through this programme, we hope to make a real contribution to improving community welfare, particularly in health, while supporting efforts to reduce stunting,” he said, quoted from a press release received on Monday (6/4).
He explained that the selection of Hegarmukti Village was based on data showing relatively higher stunting rates in the area compared to other villages in Bekasi Regency. In addition to education, the event included cooking demonstration sessions to introduce healthy and nutritious family meals. The programme also provided free health check-up services for children, including height and weight measurements to support early detection of stunting risks and growth monitoring.
As part of its ongoing commitment, Hankook is distributing 17,500 nutrition packages consisting of eggs, milk, baby porridge, and biscuits. The aid will be distributed gradually over two months to six villages in Bekasi Regency through local health posts. Secretary of Bekasi Regency, Endin Samsudin, appreciated the company’s steps in supporting stunting handling in the area.
“We hope this activity can help suppress stunting rates and encourage optimal growth and development for children in Bekasi,” he said.
This programme is also in line with the efforts of the Indonesian Ministry of Health to expand access to health services and improve community nutrition quality from an early age. Since operating in Indonesia, Hankook has consistently implemented various corporate social responsibility programmes, from health and social-religious sectors to environmental conservation, including ambulance operational support in the Bekasi area.
