Supporting Social Resilience, South Sumatra Police Distribute Hundreds of Social Assistance Packages in East OKU

The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel), through the ranks of the East Ogan Komering Ulu Police Resort, is supporting the social safety net. Polda Sumsel distributed hundreds of social assistance packages to the community in commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day in 2026.

The activity took place on Sunday (26/4/2026) and was led directly by the Chief of East OKU Police Resort, AKBP Adik Listiyono. The social assistance targeted underprivileged groups and the elderly in various areas of East OKU Regency.

The distribution of aid began at 08:00 WIB using a door-to-door method to ensure it reached the intended recipients. The East OKU Police Resort distributed an additional 11 aid packages, bringing the total social assistance distributed to 417 packages.

Each aid package contained basic necessities in the form of 5 kilograms of rice, 2 litres of cooking oil, 1 kilogram of granulated sugar, and 1 kilogram of wheat flour. This assistance is expected to ease the economic burden on the community while maintaining social resilience amid economic dynamics.

This programme is an implementation of the Precise Polri policy, which emphasises responsive public service and supports the government’s priority programmes in strengthening community welfare.

The Chief of East OKU Police Resort, AKBP Adik Listiyono, stated that this social assistance activity is a form of the presence of Polri among the people, not only in terms of security but also in humanitarian aspects.

“This activity is our commitment to continue being present and helping the community. Polri’s duties are not only to maintain security but also to ensure that the community feels the real benefits of our presence,” said AKBP Adik Listiyono in his statement on Monday (27/4/2026).

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Commissioner Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, emphasised that this activity is part of the simultaneous movement by the South Sumatra Regional Police ranks in supporting national strategic programmes.

“We are committed to fully supporting government programmes for community welfare through concrete actions in the field. This social assistance is expected to strengthen social stability while maintaining a conducive security and public order situation,” said Commissioner Nandang.
