Supporting Plantation Human Resources Development through Career Expo
The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) is supporting the Palm Oil Career Expo (POCE) 2026, taking place on 4–5 June 2026 at the UPN ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta Auditorium. This event serves as a collaborative platform between education and industry to strengthen human resources (HR) development for Indonesia’s palm oil plantations.
POCE 2026 features various career development activities, including job vacancies, on-the-spot interviews, career talks, and career guidance. The event is attended by students, graduates, and plantation industry players from various regions across Indonesia. Mujiono Ardiansyah, an Analyst from the Institutional Cooperation Division, stated that BPDP remains committed to supporting plantation HR development as a crucial foundation for the national palm oil industry’s sustainability.
‘BPDP remains committed to supporting the development of superior, competent, and competitive plantation HR through various strategic programmes, one of which is the Palm Oil Plantation HR Development Programme, or Palm Oil Scholarship. Through POCE 2026, we hope more young people will access information on educational opportunities, competency improvement, and career prospects in a sustainable palm oil industry that makes an important contribution to the national economy,’ said Mujiono Ardiansyah.
Over the two days, participants also gained direct insights from practitioners and stakeholders through seminar and discussion sessions. The event is designed to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and competency needs in the evolving palm oil sector.
Director of PT Hai Sawit Indonesia, M. Danang MRQ, as the organiser, stated that POCE is not only a recruitment event but also a means of building connectivity between campuses and industry. ‘We hope POCE can serve as a bridge connecting young talent with industry needs. Through this event, participants will not only gain job opportunities but also a better understanding of career prospects and competency development in the palm oil sector,’ said Danang.
Through synergy among universities, businesses, and relevant stakeholders, POCE 2026 is expected to strengthen the link between industry needs and the availability of young talent ready to contribute to the development of a sustainable and competitive Indonesian plantation sector. This activity is part of BPDP’s efforts to improve literacy and understanding among the younger generation regarding plantation commodities, particularly palm oil. With the quota increased to 5,000 recipients in 2026, this programme becomes the largest palm oil scholarship held since its inception. Palm oil issues often arise not only based on scientific facts but are also influenced by opinion, global economic interests, and incomplete information. BPDP does not solely focus on managing plantation funds but also on human resource development and MSME empowerment. BPDP, together with Aspekpir Indonesia, is promoting food security strengthening through palm-based MSME empowerment in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, on 12-13 May 2026.
