The National Standardization Agency (BSN) is providing full support for National Strategic Projects (PSN), specifically through the development of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) concepts for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme. This was stated by the Head of BSN, Donny Purnomo Januardhi Effyandono, following his inauguration by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, in Jakarta on Monday. According to Donny, HACCP must be ready for implementation by Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) without adding to their operational burden.

“Standardisation must not merely remain as a regulation or technical document, but must serve as a strategic instrument that supports national development, strengthens industrial competitiveness, and provides tangible benefits to the community,” said Don’ley. He expressed his commitment to strengthening BSN’s role in supporting PSN through standardisation and conformity assessment, ensuring that standards act as solutions to development needs while providing direct benefits to the public.

Donny also emphasised the importance of strengthening the legal foundation of national standardisation through the revision of the Law on Standardisation and Conformity Assessment. This revision is intended to address challenges posed by technological advancements, global trade dynamics, and evolving development needs. Furthermore, BSN intends to enhance its organisational capacity and human resources to become more adaptive, responsive, and impactful.

This inauguration serves as a significant momentum to strengthen the role of standardisation in supporting progress in science, technology, innovation, and national competitiveness. Meanwhile, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, expressed hope that BSN could deepen collaboration with universities, research institutions, the business sector, and relevant Ministries and Agencies to build a stronger and more sustainable innovation ecosystem.

“Standards are a common language that connects science with industry, innovation with the market, and quality with trust,” stated Minister Brian. He emphasised that developed standards must be capable of driving the creation of high-quality, innovative Indonesian products that are competitive in the global market. This ensures that the research and innovation of the nation do not remain merely scientific works but can provide economic added value and real benefits to society. Under this new leadership, BSN is expected to further optimise the role of standardisation as a driver of innovation, a strengthener of national competitiveness, and a vital foundation for realising a developed, independent, and sustainable Indonesia.
