Supporting National Development, South Sumatra Police Chief Guarantees Security for PLN Infrastructure
The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) is strengthening its commitment to supporting national energy resilience through enhanced synergies in securing strategic electricity infrastructure in Sumsel. This initiative forms part of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) role in safeguarding national development agendas and ensuring the stability of national vital object security remains intact.
South Sumatra Police Chief, Irjen Sandi Nugroho, affirmed that Polri stands as the frontline guard in supporting government programmes that directly impact the wider community. Reliable electricity infrastructure, he stated, is a crucial foundation for economic growth and regional stability.
“As long as all work is carried out in accordance with applicable corridors and regulations, there is nothing to worry about. We are ready to provide full support to ensure electricity operations run without obstacles,” said Irjen Sandi on Monday (27/4/2026).
The Police Chief and Polda Sumsel officials directly received an audience from PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Pembangunan (UIP) and Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) South Sumatra executives at the Presisi Building of Polda Sumsel.
In today’s meeting, discussions centred on synchronising strategic steps to guarantee the reliability of electricity supply as the main pillar of economic and social activities for the people of Sumsel. Additionally, this cross-agency coordination serves as a proactive measure against potential operational challenges in the field, particularly on strategic transmission networks such as SUTT and SKTT.
This synergy is expected to create security stability that directly impacts increased investment and accelerated regional development. With a safe and reliable electricity system, the wheels of South Sumatra’s economy can operate more optimally.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Sumsel, Kombes Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, emphasised that this collaboration is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence in safeguarding public interests.
“Polda Sumatera Selatan is committed to maintaining the security of electricity infrastructure as part of securing national vital objects. This synergy ensures that every potential disruption can be anticipated quickly and accurately,” said Nandang.
This strategic meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance ongoing communication and coordination between Polri and PLN. This collaboration is hoped to serve as a model for inter-agency synergy in maintaining prime and sustainable public services in the South Sumatra region.
