Supporting MBG Programme, PT Berdikari Partners with Experts and BRIN to Accelerate Integrated Chicken Downstreaming

PT Berdikari continues to demonstrate its commitment to accelerating the Integrated Chicken Downstreaming (HAT) Project. As a concrete step, this state-owned enterprise (BUMN) in the livestock sector has gathered academics, scientists, and government representatives in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Jakarta. This cross-sector consolidation is aimed at formulating strategies to strengthen downstreaming, which is believed to usher in a new era for the livestock industry in the country. The HAT project itself is a national priority project directly overseen by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto through the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). Its goals include maintaining food security stability, ensuring a supply of animal protein, and serving as the backbone of the success of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme. The importance of this forum is evident from the presence of several key figures, including Agricultural Expert Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, Director of Livestock Breeding and Production at Kementan Dr. Ir. Harry Suhada, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at UGM Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, and Head of the Centre for Applied Zoology Research at BRIN Dr. Delicia Yunita Rahman. During the event, PT Berdikari’s President Director, Maryadi, invited all elements, both academics and research bodies, to directly contribute to designing joint breakthroughs. “We are opening up collaborative innovations to create or design the Integrated Chicken Downstreaming project so that it can be realised as we all hope,” said Maryadi in front of the forum participants, quoted on Saturday, 9 May 2026. He also emphasised that this large-scale collaboration is the key to achieving food self-sufficiency. He assured that the BUMN under his leadership will continue to be present to bring real benefits to the people’s economy. “As a corporation, we are pleased to be able to help the community, especially smallholder farmers, and in the future, the state can collaborate with all existing stakeholders,” added Maryadi. Through the acceleration of the HAT programme and the synergy from this FGD, PT Berdikari holds high optimism. The company believes this step will align with President Prabowo Subianto’s grand vision to transform Indonesia into a nation with a modern, efficient, and globally competitive livestock industry, paving the way for the realisation of Golden Indonesia 2045.
