JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has resumed operations of the KMP Mamberamo Foja, after it was previously halted due to bad weather.

The KMP Mamberamo Foja is a roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ferry that plays an important role in supporting connectivity in 3TP regions (Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal, and Perbatasan), particularly in eastern Indonesia.

This fleet serves as the backbone of passenger and logistics transport, while also opening up more equitable mobility access for communities in hard-to-reach areas. For people in 3TP regions, the ship is not just a mode of transport, but a connector of hope.

“It brings access to markets, healthcare services, and opens up space for the growth of the local economy. Therefore, the return of KMP Mamberamo Foja’s operations is more than just sailing, but about ensuring life continues,” said ASDP’s President Director, Heru Widodo, in an official statement on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

“We ensure that ferry services remain present as the lifeline of regional connectivity by prioritising safety,” he said.

“This is not just about mobility, but about maintaining economic access, logistics distribution, and opening up tourism opportunities, especially in Eastern Indonesia,” he added.

A similar pattern is applied to the return journey to ensure service continuity. The Biak–Bromsi route is operated periodically with a flexible schedule, especially on weekends to early weekdays, covering morning, afternoon, and evening times.

All operations are conducted with a focus on safety aspects and considering weather conditions, to guarantee reliable and sustainable services.
