Supporting funds needed

DENPASAR: The government should immediately distribute
supporting funds for campaigns which are particularly needed for
small parties, the chairman of the Bali chapter of PNI Front
Marhaen said Sunday.

The government has distributed funds of Rp 150 million for
each party contesting the elections but the law also states the
government should contribute campaign funds.

Made Komando, the chairman, said the lack of funds could lead
to jealousy among parties.

He also brought attention to watch out for practices of money
politics by large parties and what he said, was the reluctance of
the government to take action, Antara reported. (anr)
