Supporting Food Security, Police Harvest 1 Tonne of Maize in Bogor
Police have harvested 1 tonne of maize planted in Bojong Koneng Village, Babakan Madang District, Bogor, West Java. The maize cultivation was carried out in support of President Prabowo Subianto’s food security programme.
“Today we harvested from 1 hectare, with an estimated yield of around 1 tonne. This programme supports the food security initiative conceived by the President, followed up by the National Police Chief, then by the District Police Chief, and now we are implementing this maize self-sufficiency effort,” said Babakan Madang Sector Police Chief AKP Trias Karso Yuliantoro on Monday (16/2/2026).
The harvest was gathered from a 1-hectare maize plantation. The crop was managed by the police in collaboration with a local farmers’ group (poktan).
“Going forward, God willing, there will be further harvests, and the independent farmers’ group in Bojong Koneng has thankfully already established cooperation with Bulog,” he said.
The harvest will be distributed directly to Bulog (the National Logistics Agency). Trias explained that the proceeds would be handed over to the farmers’ group.
“The harvest will be distributed directly to Bulog and the proceeds will be given to the farmers’ group,” he said.
The maize harvest has been beneficial to the local community, he added. It is hoped that the programme will remain consistent and continue to absorb local agricultural produce.
“The community is very enthusiastic and they have been greatly helped by this initiative. The hope is that this programme continues, and that Bulog remains consistent in absorbing produce from local farmers, particularly here in Babakan Madang,” he concluded.
