Supporting Food Security, Metro Jaya Police Harvests 3 Tonnes of Maize in Cisauk
The Metro Jaya Police supports the implementation of President Prabowo’s agenda, namely the inauguration of 166 Polri SPPG (Integrated Agricultural Outlets) and the Second Quarter Maize Harvest of 2026,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a statement on Saturday (16/5/2026).
The maize field in Kampung Dandang covers an area of 1.3 hectares. The land is managed by a farmer group cultivating NK 212 maize, a product of Syngenta.
“This is part of the Polri’s support for national food security,” he said.
The harvested area covers 0.5 hectares, with an estimated yield of around 3 tonnes of dried maize kernels. The maize harvest can be used to support the food supply chain, including Bulog, layer chicken farmers, broiler chicken farmers, maize chip factories, and MSME food processing businesses.
The Metro Jaya Police also supports the construction of the Polri Food Security Warehouse in Business Park, Jalan Raya Kalibaru, Tangerang Regency. The 4,278 square meter warehouse is projected to be able to accommodate 10,000 tonnes of maize, with construction progress reaching 95.79 percent.
“For SPPGs in the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Police, 27 units have been operating, 17 units are in preparation for operational readiness, and 22 units are still under construction. Three SPPGs have also started using CNG fuel, namely the Sawangan SPPG, the Jati Asih SPPG, and the Tajurhalang SPPG. In this simultaneous inauguration, 14 SPPGs in the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Police were also inaugurated,” he said.
Commissioner Budi said the Metro Jaya Police is ready to work together with local governments, the TNI, farmer groups, business actors, Bulog, and the community to maintain the continuity of food production and distribution. He hopes that this activity will bring real benefits to the community.
“Hopefully, this activity will not only be a ceremonial moment but will also provide real benefits for farmers, the community, and strengthen food security in the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Police,” he said. (mib/mea)
