Supporting Food Logistics Distribution, Coordinating Minister Zulhas Appreciates Petrokimia Gresik's Private Terminal
Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, known as Zulhas, stated that food security is not solely determined by production output. According to him, a reliable logistics system is also key to ensuring food can reach all regions of Indonesia effectively and efficiently. “Ports are strategic nodes that connect production, distribution, and food availability throughout Indonesia,” Zulhas said on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. “Therefore, transforming ports into green and smart ecosystems is no longer a choice, but a necessity.” For this reason, the Private Terminal (TUKS) owned by Petrokimia Gresik achieved the national best port title in the Green and Smart Port assessment at the 2026 Green and Smart Port Initiatives (GSPI) Aman, Sehat, Resik, dan Indah (ASRI) event. The award was presented directly by Zulhas at the peak of the GSPI ASRI 2026 event, which was also attended by other members of the Merah Putih Cabinet. President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Daconi Khotob, said the award is recognition of the company’s commitment to developing port management that is not only operationally reliable but also prioritises safety, sustainability, innovation, and digitalisation. “For us, port operations are strategic infrastructure that ensures the smooth supply of raw materials for the production process and the distribution of fertiliser to various regions of Indonesia, in order to support national food sovereignty,” Daconi said. “This award is an appreciation for the hard work of all Petrokimia Gresik personnel and the support of stakeholders in delivering port management that is increasingly green, smart, and competitive.” Based on the Green and Smart Port (GSP) assessment results, Petrokimia Gresik’s TUKS successfully achieved the national best port title. The assessment was conducted comprehensively based on the Green and Smart Port Guidelines 3.0/2023, which refer to national regulations and international best practices. The national best port title was achieved after Petrokimia Gresik’s TUKS recorded a final score of 94 percent in the Green and Smart Port assessment, an increase compared to the 82 percent achieved in 2022. This achievement is the result of consistently implementing Green and Smart Port principles through strengthening port governance, energy efficiency, integrated digital-based operational systems, and sustainable innovation to support the smooth supply of raw materials for the production process and distribution of fertiliser to various regions of Indonesia.
