Supporting Financial Market Strengthening, BRI Wins 3 Best Performing Primary Dealer Awards
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, has once again recorded a positive achievement by receiving three awards for Best Performing Primary Dealer in 2025 from the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). This recognition demonstrates BRI’s consistency in participating in efforts to deepen the domestic financial market while supporting sustainable APBN financing. At the award ceremony, attended by BRI’s Director of Treasury and International Banking, Farida Thamrin, at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday (1 April 2026), BRI received the titles of Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities 2025, Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities in the Primary Market 2025, and Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities in the Secondary Market 2025. This acknowledgement reflects BRI’s active role as one of the Ministry of Finance’s strategic primary dealer partners in supporting the issuance of Government Securities (SBN), both through participation in the primary market and contributions to maintaining trading liquidity in the secondary market. According to Farida, this award is a form of appreciation for BRI’s consistency in carrying out its intermediation role in the government securities market. Amid the financial market dynamics throughout 2025, marked by yield movements and global volatility, this achievement reflects BRI’s active role in supporting the effectiveness of SBN issuance, both through participation in the primary market and in maintaining liquidity and healthy trading activity in the secondary market. “This award serves as motivation for us to continue strengthening our Treasury capabilities, thereby providing sustainable added value to Indonesia’s financial market,” she stated in a comment on Thursday (2 April 2026). Regarding its role as a Primary Dealer, BRI not only participates in SBN auctions but also contributes to supporting national financing, maintaining market liquidity, and strengthening investor confidence in the domestic SBN market. As an active institution in the government securities market, BRI consistently strengthens its Treasury capabilities to maintain a consistent presence in SBN auctions, form healthy pricing, and conduct transactions in the secondary market. This role is crucial in supporting the effectiveness of the government’s financing strategy, while expanding the investor base and maintaining market participants’ confidence in domestic SBN instruments. Through this function, BRI is not only a market participant but also part of the national financing ecosystem that plays a role in maintaining market depth and efficiency. This is evident from BRI’s securities transaction volume throughout 2025, which increased by 24.40% year-on-year. Looking ahead, BRI will continue to strengthen its Treasury business, prudent governance, and risk management discipline. These steps align with the company’s commitment to supporting the development of a deeper, more efficient, and resilient SBN market, while reinforcing BRI’s contributions to the national development financing agenda.
