Supporting Eid Return Travel, Lembah Anai Handling Progress in West Sumatra Reaches 42.87%
PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) has carried out several handling measures on the Lembah Anai route in West Sumatra (Sumbar), which was affected by past flooding, achieving 42.87% progress as of the end of February. With this progress, the route can be made functional during the Eid holiday, supporting the smooth mobility of the public during the return and return flow periods.
HKI has completed soldier pile work as the dominant item at 724 points out of a total of 905 points, with critical slope handling points located at KM 66+700. In addition, slope handling at KM 63+500 using the shotcrete method continues to show progress and has reached 75% by the end of February, as part of efforts to strengthen the slopes so that the area becomes safer and more stable.
To support the route’s readiness during the functional Eid period, HKI is accelerating the completion of works related to the road body.
“In order to support the functional Eid, we are accelerating works related to the road body so that by H-10 Eid, the equipment used can be removed from the work site and placed in the designated location,” said HKI’s Director of Operations III, Aditya Novendra Jaya, on Thursday (19/3).
This step is taken so that the route can be functioned more optimally, prioritising aspects of safety and comfort for road users.
As additional support for the smooth travel of the public, HKI is also collaborating with the Ministry of Public Works to provide an Eid Post located at KM 67+600. The presence of this post is part of joint efforts to support services on that route.
In addition, HKI is deploying on-duty teams along with heavy equipment to anticipate any unforeseen conditions, including if landslides occur in the Lembah Anai area, so that handling can be carried out quickly and the route’s function remains maintained.
“We are preparing personnel and supporting equipment to ensure a quick response if emergency conditions occur in the field, to ensure the safety of road users during the functional period,” added Aditya.
For additional information, according to the decree of the Governor of West Sumatra, during the H-10 to H+10 Eid period, the Lembah Anai area route is functional with a 24-hour operational system.
This functional operation is intended for four-wheeled light vehicles (R4) and motorcycles (R2). Specifically on H-2 to H-1 Eid (19-20 March 2026) and H+1 to H+3 Eid (22-24 March 2026), a one-way system based on time is set, namely 10:00-14:00 WIB for the flow from Padang to Padang Panjang and 14:00-18:00 WIB for the reverse flow.
