Supporting Digital Transformation, UBSI Lecturers Explore Collaboration with West Kalimantan's Diskominfo and TP PKK
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK – A concrete step towards digital transformation in local government environments has once again been realised by lecturers from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Pontianak campus. Nanda Diaz Arizona and Muhammad Iqbal, lecturers from UBSI as a Creative Digital Campus, conducted a strategic audience with the West Kalimantan Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) and the Provincial Family Welfare Empowerment Movement Team (TP PKK), last Monday (27/4/2026) at the Diskominfo West Kalimantan office. This audience aims to explore the development of an information system expected to strengthen the governance of TP PKK at the provincial level. The two UBSI Pontianak campus lecturers met Reza Afrizal, Head of the Informatics Applications Division of Diskominfo West Kalimantan, and Yulia, Secretary of TP PKK of West Kalimantan Province. This audience forum became a productive dialogue space, where the real needs of the TP PKK organisation in the field directly meet the technological capabilities possessed by the UBSI academic team. In that meeting, various system development needs were discussed in depth. The discussion covered how information technology can be presented to simplify workflows, accelerate reporting, and enhance coordination across TP PKK management levels from the provincial level to lower levels. Reza welcomed this collaboration initiative positively and emphasised the importance of synergy between educational institutions and government agencies in accelerating digital transformation in West Kalimantan. “The presence of academics in government system development, we fully support. Collaborations like this actually produce more contextual and targeted solutions because they are built based on a deep understanding of field needs,” said Reza in a statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026). In line with that, Yulia as Secretary of TP PKK of West Kalimantan Province expressed her hope that the system to be developed will truly be able to address the operational challenges faced by the organisation so far. “We hope this system can later become the backbone of more orderly, transparent, and easily accessible data and information management for all levels of TP PKK administrators,” said Yulia. Meanwhile, Nanda Diaz Arizona emphasised that this audience is not just an opening meeting, but the starting point of a long process that will be undertaken seriously and with full responsibility. “We come not only bringing concepts, but also commitment. The development of this system will be guided by us from the planning stage to implementation, ensuring that every feature built is truly relevant to the needs of TP PKK West Kalimantan,” asserted Nanda. Lisnawanty, Head of the Informatics Study Programme at UBSI Pontianak Campus, gave appreciation for the initiative shown by her two lecturers in building a bridge between the academic world and the real needs of local government. “This is a concrete manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education that we uphold. Our lecturers not only teach in the classroom, but also present technological contributions that directly impact society and the government of West Kalimantan,” concluded Lisna. The collaboration between UBSI Pontianak campus, Diskominfo West Kalimantan, and TP PKK of West Kalimantan Province serves as evidence that higher education institutions have a strategic role that extends beyond campus boundaries, namely as active and relevant partners in regional development in the era of digital transformation.
