Supporting Children's Right to Education, Rajiv Distributes 50 PIP Grants for Children with Special Needs in Lembang
Indonesian House of Representatives member Rajiv was warmly welcomed during his visit to students, teachers, and parents at SLB ABC YPLAB in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, amidst his recess period.
This visit was a meaningful occasion, as Rajiv also distributed 50 Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) grants to the students at the school.
“Education is not just the right of a select few children, but the right of all the nation’s children. This assistance is hoped to ease educational needs while adding to the learning spirit of children with special needs,” said Rajiv on Friday (8/5).
Without any barriers, Rajiv directly interacted with the students by greeting them, chatting, and closely observing the joy of the children still enjoying their school days. He expressed his happiness at meeting them directly and witnessing the learning, playing, and growth process of the students.
“For my children at SLB ABC YPLAB, I’m delighted that today we can meet directly. Seeing you enjoy school days, learning, playing, and growing with full enthusiasm just like other children,” said Rajiv.
Rajiv also gave special appreciation to the parents. He considered that accompanying children with special needs requires great inner strength, patience, and sincerity.
“To the parents, you are great parents who continue to accompany, strengthen, and fight for the future of your children with full love and sincerity. May every effort made pave the way for a better future for your beloved children,” he stated.
Rajiv emphasised that the roles of teachers and parents are crucial in the educational process for children with special needs. According to him, patience must go hand in hand with sincerity.
On the same occasion, Rajiv also responded to the school’s needs for wheelchairs. He stated his readiness to help more than requested.
“Madam principal regarding the wheelchair request, not 4 wheelchairs, tomorrow I’ll give 5 wheelchairs,” Rajiv concluded.
Rajiv’s visit also brought a message of humanity, that every child has the same right to learn, grow, and achieve a future. For Rajiv, the state must continue to be present in supporting inclusive education, especially for children who need more attention and support.
