Supporting Business Growth, Midtrans Records 35% Increase in Transaction Volume During Ramadan 2026

Jakarta, VIVA – Payment gateway service provider Midtrans reported a significant increase in transaction volume of up to 35 per cent throughout Ramadan 2026, compared to normal periods.

Head of Midtrans, Boan Sianipar, stated that this rise in transaction volume indicates that, as a provider of smooth and secure digital payment systems, Midtrans is capable of accommodating the high level of public economic activity and supporting merchants in conducting transactions without obstacles during spikes in volume.

“Midtrans recorded a total increase in transaction volume of up to 35 per cent compared to normal periods,” said Boan in his statement on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

“This surge was particularly evident in the e-commerce, supermarket, streaming services, and restaurant sectors, as well as a significant increase in digital transactions with large total transaction values or Gross Transaction Value (GTV),” he added.

He further explained that readiness of infrastructure and technology is a key factor in maintaining service performance. Therefore, Midtrans maintains and ensures system stability and security so that merchants can continue to provide the best experience to customers.

“Our focus during Ramadan and Eid is to ensure system security and stability to handle transaction spikes without issues, so that consumers’ transaction experiences are not disrupted and our merchants’ operations can run smoothly,” said Boan.
