Support for industry players' access is vital to boost competitiveness
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Young Lions delegate and senior copywriter Nia Maulani has stated that Indonesian government support for providing young creative industry talents with access to international competitions is necessary to enhance the competitiveness and competence of Indonesian human resources on a global scale.
“In reality, Indonesia does not lack creative talent; however, we are often hindered by barriers, not just in terms of funding, but sometimes the barrier is also access,” said Nia during the send-off ceremony for the 2026 Young Lions delegation to the Cannes Lions Creative Festival 2026 in Jakarta on Monday.
Nia noted that many Indonesian creative industry players still lack sufficient access to mentorship, making it difficult to participate in both national and international competitions. Furthermore, international networking remains difficult to achieve due to financial constraints, limiting opportunities for Indonesian creative professionals to build connections with world-class industry players.
“As a young talent, my hope for the future is that more of my peers can break through those barriers with support from ministries and colleagues,” Nia added.
Young Lions delegate and art director M. Daffa Aulia also expressed hope that the opportunity for Indonesian representatives to attend the Cannes Lions Creative Festival 2026 would pave the way for other creative industry professionals, particularly in advertising, to represent Indonesia across various categories.
“I truly hope that next year Indonesia can send a full team, so that we can cover all categories at the Cannes Lions Creative Festival,” said Daffa.
Nia and Daffa are Indonesian representatives participating in the Cannes Lions Creative Festival 2026 in Cannes, France, in the digital campaign category. The event facilitates the exchange of industry trend insights, showcases global creative works, and hosts prestigious competitions for young talents, such as the Young Lions.
