Supervision of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units in Pidie Conducted in Tiers
The Regional Coordinator of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Pidie Regency, Mustafa Kamal, has stated that supervision of the Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) delivering the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in the regency is carried out in a tiered and periodic manner.
“Supervision of MBG kitchens is conducted in tiers and periodically through coordination with sub-district coordinators up to the Head of SPPG,” said Mustafa Kamal when contacted from Banda Aceh on Friday.
According to him, the supervision covers operational aspects of the kitchens, food safety and quality, hygiene, beneficiary data collection, MBG distribution, administration, as well as compliance with the provisions and standard operating procedures (SOP) established by BGN.
“Every finding becomes material for evaluation and is not left without follow-up. For serious violations, they will of course be reported and followed up in accordance with applicable regulations,” he said.
SPPG units found not yet meeting the requirements, said Mustafa Kamal, are given guidance and coaching to promptly make improvements, so that they become better and compliant with the SOP.
“We also monitor again to ensure the recommendations have been implemented. If more serious violations are found, they will be forwarded to the authorised parties for handling in accordance with BGN rules,” he said.
Mustafa Kamal noted that the number of SPPG units serving the MBG programme in Pidie Regency has reached 55 units. To date, there is still one sub-district, namely Mane, that has not been reached by the MBG programme, as it is still awaiting direction from the central government.
He added that his office continues to encourage the SPPG presence to become more evenly distributed and able to reach all target beneficiaries in accordance with the provisions of the MBG programme.
In its implementation, said Mustafa Kamal, the mapping of areas and educational units is continuously evaluated so that services can be increasingly optimal and well targeted.
“In principle, we are committed to maintaining SPPG governance so that it operates in accordance with the SOP, is transparent and accountable, and ensures the MBG programme truly provides benefits to the community, especially children and beneficiary groups targeted by the programme,” said Mustafa Kamal.
