Superstars embark on Super Tour
HONG KONG (Agencies): The golf superstars on the US$150,000 Johnnie Walker Super Tour are approaching top form as they prepare to tee-off in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Tuesday for the first of four rounds in four different countries in only six days.
Defending Johnnie Walker Super Tour champion Jesper Parnevik seems to be finding his best form after a recent finish in equal third position at the Tour Championship. He will definitely need to find his best form to succeed in the 1998 Super Tour, competing against the likes of Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Brian Watts and Laura Davies.
Fijian Singh is one of the hottest players in professional golf with his victory in the U.S. PGA Championship in August and recent second place finish at the Tour Championship. Singh led the Tour Championship from the start before being caught at the post by Hal Sutton, who forced the event's first play-off since 1994.
Two-time U.S. Open champion and 1997 Johnnie Walker Classic champion Ernie Els, who along with the Philippines' Felix Casas is the only golfer to compete in all three Johnnie Walker Super Tours, is sure to turn in a strong performance, as is British Open runner-up and world number 27, Brian Watts.
