Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Super Bank Indonesia Tbk. (SUPA) booked profit attributable to owners of the parent entity of Rp182.6 billion in the first half of 2026, soaring nearly ninefold compared with the same period last year.

Even so, the digital bank still has an accumulated retained earnings deficit of Rp663.5 billion stemming from losses in previous years.

According to the company’s financial statements, retained earnings not yet determined for use remained at a deficit position of Rp663.52 billion as of the end of June 2026. Although the deficit narrowed 21.58% compared with the position at the end of 2025, the accumulated past losses have not yet been fully covered.

On the other hand, Superbank’s business growth has been aggressive. Loan disbursement reached Rp13.4 trillion, up 61% year on year, while total assets jumped 81.5% year on year to Rp27 trillion. Funding also increased, with third-party funds (DPK) reaching Rp15.9 trillion, up 89.1% year on year.

While this expansion drove net interest income (NII) up 51.7% year on year to Rp1.01 trillion, the expansion was also accompanied by higher operating expenses and greater provisioning needs.

Going forward, investors will be watching whether aggressive credit growth can continue to be matched by asset quality and sustainable profitability.

In its press release, Superbank said its cost to income ratio (CIR) improved to 54.8% from 74.6% in the same period last year, while pre-tax return on equity (ROE) rose to 5.7% from 1.2%.

“We will continue to expand collaboration within the ecosystem to deliver digital financial services that are increasingly relevant, easily accessible, and capable of creating long-term value for customers, partners, and shareholders,” said Superbank President Director Tigor M. Siahaan.
