Supadio Airport to Handle Departure of 1,861 Hajj Pilgrims
Pontianak (ANTARA) - The General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Supadio International Airport Branch Office, Maya Damayanti, has stated the readiness of her team to serve the departure of 1,861 prospective Hajj pilgrims from West Kalimantan heading to the Batam embarkation point for the 2026 Hajj season.
“PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Supadio International Airport Branch Office ensures that all facilities and services have been prepared to support the smooth departure process for the pilgrims, scheduled from 5 to 9 May 2026,” she said in Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Tuesday.
Based on data from the West Kalimantan Provincial Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the pilgrims come from various regencies and cities, with the largest number from Pontianak City at 1,508 people, followed by Singkawang City (157), Kubu Raya Regency (35), Sintang Regency (32), Sambas Regency (19), Sanggau Regency (16), and 12 each from Kayong Utara Regency, Ketapang, and Mempawah.
Additionally, Bengkayang Regency has 10 pilgrims, Melawi Regency (8), Sekadau and Landak Regencies with three each, and Kapuas Hulu Regency (2). The pilgrims are accompanied by Regional Hajj Officers (PHD) and Hajj and Umrah Worship Guidance Groups (KBIHU).
The airport side is committed to providing the best service for prospective Hajj pilgrims from West Kalimantan.
This year’s Hajj transportation operations are served by Lion Air using Boeing 737-800 aircraft on a direct route from Pontianak to Batam, divided into flight groups (klotters) 14 to 18.
The airport has prepared several special facilities, including dedicated apron parking for Hajj aircraft, provision of security facilities such as X-ray and walk-through metal detectors at the Hajj dormitory, as well as escort by Aviation Security officers and Apron Movement Control.
“Our priority is to ensure that pilgrims receive comfortable, safe, fast, and smooth service from arrival at the airport until the aircraft takes off,” she said.
The departure schedule begins on 5-6 May 2026 for klotter 14 with three flights at 19.00, 23.00, and 03.00 WIB; klotters 15, 16, and 17 depart on 6-8 May 2026 with three flights each day at 09.00, 13.00, and 17.00 WIB; and klotter 18 on 9 May 2026 at 09.00 WIB.
Overall, there are 13 flights from Pontianak to Batam that will transport the pilgrims to the Holy Land.
Supadio International Airport management also urges pilgrims to maintain their health and follow the instructions of officers during the departure process and the performance of Hajj worship.
“We ask for prayers and support from the people of West Kalimantan so that the entire departure process runs safely, smoothly, and on time, and that the pilgrims can perform their worship well and return to the homeland as accepted Hajj pilgrims,” said Maya.
