Sunwoda Launches Ultra-Fast Charging Motorcycle Battery: 80% Charge in 20 Minutes
At the CIBF 2026 event, Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 300207; SIX: SWD)—ranked 11th in the ‘Top 50 and Global New Energy Enterprises’ and a long-standing supplier to world-class smartphone and automotive manufacturers—showcased a comprehensive product portfolio under the theme ‘Power Your Each Moment’. A highlight of the exhibition was the Motorcycle Ultra-Fast Charging Battery.
Supported by a 6 kW charger, this battery can reach 80% charge within 20 minutes. “Delivery service riders can now charge their electric motorcycle batteries during a short coffee break before returning to the road,” said Sandy Lv, General Manager of the Motorcycle Battery Business at Sunwoda. “This shift in usage patterns has the potential to make ultra-fast charging technology the new standard in the small electric motorcycle market.”
To support high-power charging, the battery is designed to maintain a temperature difference between cells of less than 3 degrees Celsius. It offers over 2,000 charging cycles with a lifespan of up to five years. Featuring an IPX7 waterproof certification, the battery can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius and is compatible with over 90% of battery swapping stations.
In addition to the product launch, Sunwoda and several industry partners have formed the Ultra-Fast Charging Alliance for Light Electric Mobility to support the standardisation of charging protocols. The battery has completed design validation with several leading electric motorcycle brands. Pilot projects are currently underway in Hangzhou, with mass production scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
The ‘Power Your Each Moment’ theme reflects Sunwoda’s commitment to providing battery solutions for diverse needs, ranging from smartphones and laptops to two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and marine vessels. Through vertical integration covering raw materials, battery cells, systems, and recycling, Sunwoda has built a complete portfolio across consumer batteries, vehicle batteries, and energy storage.
In the consumer electronics sector, Sunwoda supplies highly reliable batteries for smartphones, laptops, and connected devices. In the vehicle battery sector, alongside the new motorcycle battery, Sunwoda showcased flash-charge technology for passenger electric cars supporting ultra-fast charging up to 1,800 A. For the maritime sector, Sunwoda offers battery system capabilities for inland and coastal vessels. Meanwhile, in the energy storage sector, the battery cell portfolio displayed includes capacities ranging from 102 Ah to 684 Ah to support residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects globally.
Furthermore, Sunwoda showcased various sustainability initiatives, including the use of recycled materials and the implementation of ‘battery passports’, supporting customers amidst the progress of electrification towards faster charging, safer systems, and more transparent battery lifecycle management.
