Sungrow Expands Residential Energy Storage Portfolio with New Generation Solutions for Reliable Power Backup

With the introduction of the new MG12RL hybrid inverter, Sungrow has expanded its product power range from 5 kW to 12 kW.
Increased Flexibility for Diverse Household Needs
Supporting both self-consumption of solar energy and use as a backup power source, Sungrow’s residential ESS solutions can be applied to various usage scenarios. This allows homeowners to customise their energy strategies according to individual needs and preferences. The solution utilises the MGRL series hybrid inverters, which feature expandable capacity ranging from 5 kW to 96 kW through parallel operation. The system also supports various battery options, including the MGL060, MBL050, MBL120, and MBL160, with capacities starting from 5 kWh to 16 kWh, and can be scaled up to 320 kWh to meet the energy requirements of large-scale households.
Greater Solar Production, Optimised Energy Value
To maximise self-consumption of solar energy and improve energy efficiency, the system supports PV oversizing of up to 200% and a maximum output capacity of up to 160%. This capability helps users utilise more solar energy throughout the day. With support for input currents of up to 20A, the solution is compatible with most major PV panels on the market, providing greater flexibility for new installations and retrofit projects. Capable of operating in challenging climates, the system maintains full power output at ambient temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius, ensuring stable solar energy production during peak daytime electricity demand. The solution also integrates Sungrow’s patented PID ZERO® technology, which actively reduces the impact of Potential Induced Degradation (PID) without requiring a disconnection from the grid, thereby preserving long-term solar panel performance and energy yield.
Reliable Power Backup and Smarter Energy Management
To enhance energy resilience in the residential sector, the system can switch to off-grid mode in just 4 milliseconds, providing seamless backup power during grid outages. The system is also capable of generating an overload output of up to 200% for 10 seconds* to ensure electrical appliances restart with a stable power supply. Regarding operation and maintenance, the system features a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen for easy local configuration. Initial setup can be completed in less than 30 seconds without requiring internet access. Through the iSolarCloud platform, users can easily manage the system to support smarter and more efficient energy management.
