Sunday night: Bogor City Hall plunged into darkness as power outage hits

Bogor City Hall was struck by a power outage on Sunday, 8 March 2026, at around 20:57 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Security personnel tightened their vigilance.

Reports showed that electricity across all areas of Bogor City Hall was out, from the main building to the Regional Secretariat building. In addition, several security officers were seen patrolling the Bogor City Hall precinct in vehicles.

Bogor City Secretary Denny Mulyadi said the Bogor City Government had contacted the state electricity company PLN to investigate the cause of the outage. ‘I’ve contacted PLN; they are checking the network. I don’t know what happened,’ Denny said when contacted by Kompas.com on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

Denny also instructed all security personnel on duty at the Bogor City Hall precinct to heighten surveillance. ‘I just checked and just got back. Be vigilant in security, that’s all,’ he said.

As of around 21:30 WIB, the atmosphere at Bogor City Hall remained in darkness.
