Sunday Afternoon Floods Still Inundate 115 RTs and 16 Roads in Jakarta
Jakarta – The Jakarta Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that as of Sunday at 15:00 WIB, 115 rukun tetangga (RT) and 16 road segments in the capital had been flooded due to heavy rainfall in the area. Isnawa Adji, the acting head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday that they had undertaken various measures to mitigate the flood impacts in affected locations. He noted that the latest data show floods affecting 75 RTs and 19 road segments in West Jakarta, East Jakarta and South Jakarta. Isnawa also said water heights ranged from 20 centimetres to 1.8 metres. ‘There are nine RTs in Kelurahan Kuningan Barat flooded from 60 cm to 180 cm,’ he said. In West Jakarta there are 33 RTs, distributed across: Kelurahan Kedaung Kali Angke: 4 RT — water height 70 cm; Kelurahan Rawa Buaya: 9 RT — 60 to 120 cm; Kelurahan Jelembar Baru: 1 RT — 40 cm; Kelurahan Kebon Jeruk: 1 RT — 20 cm; Kelurahan Kedoya Selatan: 4 RT — 70 cm; Kelurahan Kedoya Utara: 4 RT — 20 cm; Kelurahan Sukabumi Selatan: 2 RT — 100 cm; Kelurahan Joglo: 1 RT — 65 cm; Kelurahan Kembangan Selatan: 5 RT — 50–70 cm; Kelurahan Kembangan Utara: 2 RT — 65 cm; Kelurahan Petogogan: 39 RT — 70 cm; Kelurahan Kuningan Barat: 9 RT — 60–180 cm; Kelurahan Pela Mampang: 1 RT — 45 cm; Kelurahan Duren Tiga: 2 RT — 60 cm. He added that BPBD DKI Jakarta has deployed personnel to monitor standing water conditions in each area and to coordinate with the Dinas SDA, Dinas Bina Marga, and Dinas Gulkarmat to pump out the floodwater and ensure drainage works are functioning correctly, together with local lurahs and camats, and to prepare basic necessities for evacuees.
