Sumsel Transport Authority: Operating Permit for Burnt ALS Bus Already Expired

The Head of Sumsel Class II BPTD, Nurhadi Unggul Wibowo, stated that a team has been dispatched to the scene. “There is already (the Sumsel BPTD team), we have assigned staff with motor vehicle testing competencies to go there,” he said, as quoted by detikSumbagsel on Thursday (7/5/2026). His side is still awaiting further information regarding the checks to be conducted. He also could not yet reveal preliminary suspicions about the accident. “We are waiting for results from the police. Later, our team together with others, including the police, will inspect,” he explained. However, he assured that the KIR test for the bus with plate BK-7778-DL involved in the accident with the tanker truck is still active. Regarding the transport operating permit, BPTD stated that it has already expired. “If (KIR) the bus is still active. For the transport permit, it’s true, it has expired,” he said.
