Sumsel Regional Police Chief Emphasises Strategic Partnership with Media at Iftar Gathering
Sumsel Regional Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho hosted an iftar meal with media representatives from across South Sumatra at the Sumsel Regional Police Headquarters. The event served as an opportunity for fellowship and reinforcement of the strategic partnership between Sumsel Regional Police and the press in supporting public security and order maintenance.
Inspector General Sandi was accompanied by Sumsel Deputy Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Rony Samtana, Internal Affairs Inspector Kombes Feri Handoko Soenarso, and all senior officials of Sumsel Regional Police. The event brought together media representatives from various platforms, including print media, online media, television, and radio outlets.
In his remarks, the Sumsel Regional Police Chief emphasised his commitment to building warm and open communication with the press as strategic partners of law enforcement. Inspector General Sandi noted that the successful execution of police duties is inseparable from media support and cooperation, particularly in delivering information to the public responsibly.
“As a new official at South Sumatra Regional Police, there is certainly a strong desire to greet and build warm communication with all members of the press,” said Inspector General Sandi in his statement on Friday 27 February 2026.
Inspector General Sandi also expressed appreciation to journalists who have been conveying the achievements and developments of Sumsel Regional Police in an informative, educational, and constructive manner. In doing so, he noted, police information has reached a wider audience up to the national level.
“The various achievements and developments of South Sumatra Regional Police have been widely disseminated to the national level, thanks largely to the role of our media colleagues,” he said.
On this occasion, Inspector General Sandi requested support and constructive criticism from the media to improve the quality of police operations and services. He emphasised that Sumsel Regional Police is open to receiving feedback and ready to collaborate with media outlets to strengthen a conducive environment for public security.
“For this reason, we ask for your support, your backing, and your constructive criticism should there be any shortcomings in our work. We are open to receiving suggestions and ready to collaborate,” the Police Chief stated firmly.
Inspector General Sandi expressed hope that the fellowship and partnership with the press would not be limited to the Ramadan period, but would continue and strengthen in the future to maintain stability and harmony in South Sumatra.
The iftar gathering itself proceeded in a warm and spirit of togetherness, serving as a space for communication to strengthen synergy between Sumsel Regional Police and media representatives.
