Assistant for General Criminal Affairs (Aspidum) at the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Atang Pujiyanto, was examined in connection with allegations of case handling. The news of the examination was confirmed by the Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Ketut Sumedana. The examination pertains to a case from when Atang was still serving as Head of the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office. “It’s true (examined regarding case handling),” he told reporters on Friday (8/5). However, Ketut denied reports of a forced pickup by the Attorney General’s Office Organisational Resources Security Team (Pam SDO). “Not secured, we requested the individual to go to the Attorney General’s Office because it’s still in the clarification stage in the supervisory division,” he explained. On the other hand, he emphasised that the examination by the Attorney General’s Office is not related to Atang’s duties as Aspidum at the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office. “It has no connection to the individual’s duties as Aspidum at the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office,” he said. Furthermore, Ketut declined to comment on the substance of the examination, including allegations of money flows related to case handling. According to him, that matter is under the Attorney General’s Office’s authority. “For more details, please ask the Attorney General’s Office,” he stated.
